Certified Data Erasure
What is Certified Data Erasure?
Certified Data Erasure is a software-based technique for making sensitive, private information on a device permanently unrecoverable while keeping the device still useable. Unlike other data sanitization techniques, it doesn’t destroy devices, making it environmentally friendly.
Basically it completely destroys all electronic data residing on a hard disk drive or other digital media by overwriting data onto all sectors of the device in an irreversible process. It will typically overwrite the disk’s surface with 0’s or random characters, through multiple passes.
Example US Army AR380-19: The write head passes over each sector three times. The first time with 0xFF, second time with zeros 0x00 and the third time with random characters. There is one final pass to verify random characters by reading.
Secure Data Destruction
As no technical or forensic approach can be used to recover the data after erasure, it is the best way to securely remove data from your device.

Regulatory Compliance
Data security is a legal issue, and you must maintain compliance to continue doing business. Data eraser software aids in maintaining compliance with national and international data protection and privacy legislation by providing tamper-proof audit trails for guaranteed data deletion.
Environmentally Friendly
Data erasure is an environmentally friendly method that enables the reuse of outdated technology and lowers e-waste. Erasing data is an excellent first step toward ethical recycling and reuse.
